Olds Rapids Swim Club Volunteer Information
The Olds Rapids Swim Club (ORSC) is a non-profit, parent run organization that offers swim programming that strives to meet the needs and goals of each individual swimmer. The ORSC relies upon parent participation and volunteerism to provide programming and events, accessible fees, and to ensure on-going governance and administration. Volunteerism supports the success of each athlete and the club as a whole.
Policy:
All families are required to provide volunteers during the swim season to support club events, swim meets, and to facilitate fundraising opportunities. Upon registration, all families agree to pay a Volunteer Deposit. This charge can be earned back to your account by volunteering at various events throughout the year.
- Volunteer opportunities will be communicated to parents throughout the season to the email addresses provided at registration. Each volunteer opportunity will be assigned a points value by the ORSC Board.
- Volunteer points will be accounted for each volunteer activity fulfilled.
- Volunteer points cannot be carried over from one season to the next.
- It is the responsibility of each individual family to ensure that they meet the volunteer requirements before the end of the swim season. Families are encouraged to plan ahead to be available for ORSC events including fundraisers, swim meets, mini-meets, photo day, and other events.
- Each family is required to provide one volunteer for our ORSC Central Alberta Race Series (CARS) Swim Meet with the expectation that families will fulfill positions as Officials. As swimmers progress in the club, volunteers are expected to also progress in their development as Officials, including becoming certified through the online modules and in person courses.
- First year club members: Timers, Marshalls.
- Second year club members: Stroke Judge, Inspector of Turns.
