Swim teacher, Miss C, Ce-Ci, Coach C or just Mom. Originally from Sunny South Africa, I am a certified Royal Academy Ballet, Tap & Modern dance instructor (1999) who loved teaching so much that I earned my Ba. Human movement Sciences (2001), Post Graduate Teaching Certification in Biology, Physiology & English (2003), Personal Trainer & Group fitness instructor (2004) all the while swimming among great persons such as Simon Gray, Penny Haynes, Ryck Neethling & my own brother. Married (2004) with our little fishy, Cheye-anne (2007) we immigrated to Canada in 2010 where I started my career as a National Lifeguard & Water safety instructor in Wetaskiwin. In 2011 we added our son TC to the mix. Currently I work as a swim teacher (WSI),Lifesaving Instructor (LSI), Aqua-size, Water Therapy & Aqua Jog instructor & Senior guard at Three Hills Aquatic Center. I have had the privilege to coach competitive swimming for the Three Hills Neons (2013-2016), Lifesaving sport for the Trochu Kippers (2014-2017), Triathlon for Zone 2 @ the Alberta Summer Games (2015) & coached & competed for the Didsbury Aqua Jets (Summer 2017) I believe in Personal Bests, making new club records & aiming for 1 more detail every time you swim. My name is Madeline Fedora. I started swimming competitively at the age of 4 and I have been hooked ever since! I hold regional and provincial records in British Columbia and have had the honour of being trained under olympic coaches at SFU and UBC. I found my passion for coaching by working for teams within the Fraser Valley and have gained more experience by attending BC coaches conferences. I have attained my level 1 NCCP/Swim Canada certification, making ethical decisions certification, and am a fully certified lifeguard. I am excited to be a part of the Olds Rapids Swim Club and I am looking forward to meeting all of you!
Jazzlyn Thompson has been swimming competitively since the age of seven. She has participated in local, regional, and provincial meets. Along with achieving medals in many different events, Jazzlyn held a national record in the 1500m at the age of eleven. Her favourite stroke is breaststroke. Along with a love for the sport of swimming, Jazzlyn has a deep appreciation for the sense of community created through swim club. This unique environment brings kids of all ages together onto one team.
Leah Peterson recently graduated from the University of Lethbridge and is currently working at Holy Trinity Catholic School.
In high school, Leah swam competitively with the Rocky Barracudas which eventually lead to her career in aquatics. Her favorite part of working in aquatics is sharing her love of the water. She has taught swimming lessons for 10 years at a variety of places including; Rocky Aquatic Centre, Wilderness Village, Max Bell Regional Aquatic Centre and for the Red Cross Aboriginal Swim Program. She also spent 2 seasons coaching competitive swimming with Red Deer Catalina Swim Club and the Rocky Barracuda Swim Club.
Outside of school and work Leah enjoys spending time at the lake boating, skiing and doing SUP yoga. Other interest include hiking and paddle boarding with her dog Duke. Traveling is also anther passion of Leah's. She enjoys spending time in different countries and learning about the culture.
She is excited to be part of the Old's Rapids and looking forward to the season!
